At Integrative Psychological Services, we are committed to providing the highest quality training program to prepare our postdoctoral trainees to become highly competent licensed psychologists. The postdoctoral training position consists of 1-2 years of supervised practice, and candidates are expected to become licensed in the state of Texas as a licensed psychologist with provisional status. Candidates receive high quality training and supervision in a supportive environment that is both professional and warm and caring. Training methods include formal trainings, weekly individual supervision, ongoing supervision of medical records, observations and review of clinical work, and case presentations. Training goes beyond clinical treatment and includes handling legal situations, ethics, professional boundary setting, consulting with allied professionals, and business practices of private practice. Trainees are expected to provide both psychotherapy and assessment and will be working with children, adolescents, and adults, with opportunities to work with families and couples. Candidates are also mentored on work-life balance, self-care, how to avoid burnout, professional identify development, and professional goals. Mirroring our treatment philosophy and values, we believe in creating a professional environment that fosters overall wellness, high quality of life and health and balance in all areas of living.
